Youth Leadership and Personal Development

Storm Academy empowers girls and women in Puget Sound through inspiring leadership programs, motivating speakers, and educational platforms. These sessions foster community, spark interest in new careers, and build essential skills. A cohort of high school girl athletes from around Seattle engaged in curriculum designed to foster confidence, curiosity, and readiness. 

Session 1:  

  • Personal: Personal Identity & Confidence – led by Dr. Rees Wilson of You-ish
  • Career Exposure: Women in Leadership – guest panel & student networking  

Session 2:  

  • Personal: Using Your Voice – led by Storm 
  • Career Exposure: Careers in Business and Law – led by Storm  

Session 3:  

  • Personal: Personal Health, Nutrition & Wellness – led by Providence Swedish
  • Career Exposure: Careers in Healthcare – led by Providence Swedish 

Session 4:  

  • Personal: Finding Calm in the Chaos (Mental Health) – led by Therapy Fund Foundation
  • Career Exposure: Working in Sports – led by Storm + special guests 

Session 5:  

  • Personal: Resume Building – led by Rainier Scholars
  • Career Exposure: Careers in Dentistry – led by Delta Dental of Washington 

Session 6:  

  • Final Project & Celebration 
  • 100% of students said they felt more confident in themselves, their abilities and their skills after completing the program
  • 100% of students said they felt empowered to be better leaders for others after completing the program
  • 100% of students said they gained tools and experience that will help them apply for school and job
