The annual initiative pairs each player with a featured artist to create one-of-a-kind sneakers that raise awareness for causes they care about, while supporting community impact through fundraising. This year's collection highlights Black maternal health, mental health awareness, racial and economic justice, LGBTQ+ rights, breast cancer awareness, autism awareness and more.

Sheridan Blanford, a seasoned social impact expert, will oversee the Storm’s Community and Social Impact department and will create meaningful initiatives that engage the team’s diverse and growing fan base through partnerships, outreach programs, events, and more.

Each year we select a talented BIPOC woman sneaker artist to work with each player to custom design a sneaker for our Kicks for Equality Campaign. The shoes reflect important causes for Storm players such as mental health, gun violence awareness, Black Lives Matter, Pride, gender equality, indigenous people awareness, and African art and heritage. This year’s artist, Takiyah Ward, is a local business owner who currently operates the first and only sneaker dry cleaning service in Seattle, Re-Sole 206.
