Stay tuned for the smiles, stories, and impact still to come!

LETS Play by Symetra
LETS Play is a recurring five-week program developed in partnership with Symetra and the Seattle Kraken, focused on teaching leadership, equity, and teamwork through play.
Most recently, we engaged 55 fourth graders from Tiffany Park Elementary in a series of unforgettable experiences—including an inspiring assembly with Skylar Diggins on leadership and teamwork, a Jr. Storm basketball clinic, and a field trip to Climate Pledge Arena. To further support the school community, a $14,000 donation was made to Tiffany Park Elementary through our partnership with Symetra and the Seattle Kraken.
LETS Play continues to foster confidence, connection, and community—one game at a time.

WaFd Half Court Shot Competition
Before every game, our players compete to see who can make half court shots. Beginning in 2023, we partnered with WaFD Bank to turn this competition into cash for a local nonprofit. At the end of the season, the player with the most halfcourt shots selects a local nonprofit to receive an $8,000 donation from the Storm and WaFD Bank.
For the third year, half court shots make an impact outside of shootaround! The 2025 half court champ is Skylar Diggins with 9 makes over the course of the season.

Next Verse Project
In 2025, the Seattle Storm partnered with Emmy-nominated poet and activist Trey Baker to launch The Next Verse Project, empowering young creatives through poetry. Four students participated in workshops focused on self-expression, confidence, and leadership, culminating in a powerful on-court performance at our August 1st Kicks for Equality game.

Community Courts
In partnership with Symetra and the Seattle Sounders RAVE Foundation, we’re proud to support an initiative to open four new basketball courts and mini pitches in underserved neighborhoods, creating more opportunities for free, equitable play and community connection.

Storm Academy
StormAcademy empowers girls and women in Puget Sound through inspiring leadership programs, motivating speakers, and educational platforms. These sessions foster community, spark interest in new careers, and build essential skills.
Providence Swedish + Washington Alliance for Better Schools
Local youth from Washington Alliance for Better Schools learned about jobs in healthcare and sports medicine, discussed the importance of mental health, and heard from Storm CEO Alisha Valavanis at our Storm Academy session with Providence Swedish. We also supported Washington Alliance for Better Schools with a $25,000 donation to continue their work.
Symetra + Young Women Empowered
Confidence, leadership, and the future were front and center at StormAcademy—presented by Symetra and shared with Young Women Empowered. Our Chief Social Impact Officer, Sheridan Blanford, shared her powerful story to inspire the next generation of changemakers after the students learned about goal setting & planning for the future.
Stats For Youth
Stats For Youth is a season-long initiative that turns stats from Storm games into benefits for the community. Each year, Force4Change partners with like-minded businesses to give back to non-profits focused on our Force4Change pillars.
