Power Forward Readers, presented by PEMCO, is the Seattle Storm’s year-round youth literacy platform dedicated to expanding access to books, building reading confidence, and supporting early literacy development across the Greater Seattle region. Strong literacy skills are among the most important predictors of long-term academic achievement, self-confidence, and economic opportunity. Through Power Forward Readers, the Storm inspires a love of reading by modeling enthusiasm for books, encouraging participation in summer reading programs, and providing students with books of their own to help foster daily reading habits at home.
Our Partners
Power Forward Readers is made possible through the support and collaboration of our community partners. Visit their websites to learn more about the important work they do to advance youth literacy throughout our region.
Get Reading
We love reading, and we hope you'll read with us! Students in grades K–12 are encouraged to join their local library’s summer reading challenge and keep the pages turning all summer long. Visit your local library branch to sign up. If your library is part of one of our partner library systems, you may even be eligible to earn Storm prizes for participating.
