Storm signs forward Cierra Burdick for remainder of season

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm announced the signing of forward Cierra Burdick to a rest of season contract on Wednesday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burdick, a Charlotte, North Carolina native, was originally signed to a 7-day contract with the Storm on July 1, then a second on July 8.  She has appeared in two games for Seattle this season.

Burdick was originally selected as the 14th overall pick by Los Angeles in the 2015 WNBA draft after a standout career at Tennessee. She has seen action in 51 games over five seasons including her two with the Storm this year. Burdick has also had stints in Atlanta, New York, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Minnesota.

In June, Burdick was named the MVP of the Red Bull 3×3 National Championship, helping guide the Force 10 team to the national title.

The Storm are in the midst of a five-game road trip, facing New York Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) in the first of two games against the Liberty this week.
