Seattle plays 20 home games this season as WNBA expands schedule to 40 games
SEATTLE — The schedule for the 2023 Seattle Storm Season presented by Symetra was released today, featuring a record 20 home games as the WNBA announced an expanded slate of 40 games for the upcoming season.
The season tips off with Opening Day presented by Providence Swedish on Saturday, May 20 at Noon, as Seattle hosts Las Vegas in a rematch of the 2022 WNBA Semifinals. It will be the first of three-straight home games for the Storm to start the season as Seattle also hosts Dallas on May 26 and New York on May 30 before its first road game at Los Angeles on June 3. The Sparks are the Storm’s final opponent of the regular season as Seattle hosts LA to wrap up the year on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Excitement for the season is building as the Storm has already eclipsed its season tickets sales from the 2022 season with over five months to go before the season begins. Heading into the 2023 season, the Storm has its most season ticket holders in franchise history after seeing a nearly 90% season ticket renewal rate and a record number of new season ticket holders signing up over the last two months. MORE 2023 SCHEDULE NOTES:
- The WNBA season begins on Friday, May 19, with four games tipping off the season. The campaign concludes on Sunday, Sept. 10, followed by the WNBA playoffs. Specific playoff dates will be announced in the future.
- Seattle plays four games against seven WNBA teams—two at home and two on the road, including each of the five other Western Conference teams (Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, and Phoenix), and two Eastern Conference teams (Chicago and New York). The Storm plays three games against the other four teams including two at home vs Connecticut and Washington and one home game each vs Atlanta and Indiana.
- The 2023 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 15. More information on the All-Star Game including the location of the game will be forthcoming.
- The Commissioner’s Cup presented by Coinbase returns in 2023 with the first home and road game against conference rivals serving as designated “Commissioner Cup Games”. The teams from each conference with the best record in those 10 Commissioner Cup Games meet in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship on Tuesday, Aug. 15. More information will be announced at a later date.
- Similar to last season’s schedule, the Storm plays 11 of its first 16 games at home. After that, Seattle ends the season with 15 of its final 24 games on the road including seven of its last nine.
- Seattle’s longest homestand is four games from Aug. 8-18, as the Storm hosts Connecticut, Atlanta, Phoenix and Minnesota. The Storm has two separate four-game road trips: July 6-12 (Connecticut, New York, Washington, Atlanta) and its final trip of the season Aug. 31-Sept. 8 (LA, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Dallas).
- Seattle has just one back-to-back set of games on the road this season, but it is a tough one as the Storm plays at Washington on July 11, then at Atlanta on July 12. Both games are scheduled for 7pm ET.

- June – 7 Home, 5 Road
- July – 3 Home, 7 Road
- August – 6 Home, 5 Road
- September – 1 Home, 3 Road
- In addition to opening the season vs Las Vegas in a rematch of the 2022 WNBA Semifinals, Seattle hosts Washington in back-to-back home games on June 9 and 11 in a rematch of the 2022 WNBA First Round series between the two which produced a Storm sweep in Seattle.
- The Storm also faces the defending WNBA Champion Aces at home on Thursday, July 20. Seattle travels to Las Vegas twice, in a Commissioner’s Cup Game on Thursday, July 15, and on Saturday, Sept. 2.
- Rival Phoenix and Diana Taurasi visit Seattle twice this season after playing just once in the Northwest last year. Those games are slated for Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, Aug. 13.
- All four Storm games vs Minnesota are home-and-home series: at the Lynx on June 27 then in Seattle on June 29; then in Seattle on Aug. 18 and back to Minnesota on Aug. 20.
- The TV/Streaming schedule will be announced closer to the start of the season.
