Seattle Storm Signs Jennifer O’Neill

Former Minnesota Lynx guard, O’Neill inks training camp contract

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that Jennifer O’Neill has signed a training camp contract.

O’Neill, a 5-5 guard, appeared in 13 games for the Minnesota Lynx in 2015, and marked career highs of 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. O’Neill represented Puerto Rico at the 2012 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ankara, Turkey, and averaged 7.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game at the 2012 Centrobasket Championship in Morovis, Puerto Rico. A graduate of Kentucky, O’Neill is among the Wildcats’ all-time leaders in three-point field goals made, (second all-time with 197), games played, (sixth with 133), and finished 12th in scoring with 1,449 points.

O’Neill signed a training camp contract with the Connecticut Sun prior to the 2016 WNBA season, and played in one preseason game before being waived. She signed a training camp contract with the Lynx on May 16, 2015 and was waived on July 22, 2015 following her 13 appearances with Minnesota.

As previously announced by the WNBA, Seattle has been selected to host Verizon WNBA All-Star 2017. The game is set for 12:30 p.m. on July 22, 2017 at KeyArena.
