Quanitra Hollingsworth Re-Signs With Seattle

6-5 Center Returns for Second Season in Seattle; Sixth WNBA Campaign

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that Quanitra Hollingsworth has re-signed with the franchise.

In her first season in a Storm jersey, Hollingsworth appeared in 27 games, posting averages of 3.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds on Sept. 13, 2015 vs. San Antonio.

In five seasons of WNBA competition, Hollingsworth has career averages of 3.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. She was drafted ninth overall by Minnesota in the 2009 WNBA Draft and traded to New York on May 27, 2011. After missing the 2012 WNBA season due to Turkish National Team commitments, Hollingsworth was acquired by the Mystics on April 15, 2013. She again missed the 2014 season due to Turkish National Team commitments.

Following overseas stops in Lithuania, Latvia and Russia, Hollingsworth is now playing for Turkish club Fenerbache throughout the current 2015-16 WNBA offseason. With Fenerbache, she is averaging 9.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Hollingsworth competed with the Turkey Women’s National Team in the 2012 London Olympics. The team finished in 5th place.

A 2009 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Hollingsworth entered college at age 15. After redshirting her freshman year, Hollingsworth racked up impressive numbers over the next four seasons, 2005-09. She left VCU as the Rams’ all-time leading rebounder (1,114) and second all-time in points (1,523).
