SEATTLE — Seattle Storm center Dominique Malonga was named to France’s FIBA Women’s World Cup roster on Saturday.

At 20 years old, this marks Malonga’s first senior level appearance at the FIBA World Cup. She was the youngest member of the French team that won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games on home soil and led France to the bronze medal at the 2022 FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup.

In her sophomore season in the WNBA, Malonga is averaging career highs in nearly every statistical category, including points (17.0), rebounds (8.8), assists (1.7), blocks (1.5) and steals (1.0). She has broken numerous records this season, including becoming the youngest player in WNBA history to 800 points, 400 rebounds and 15 double-doubles. Malonga also became the youngest 30+ point scorer in league history with a career-high 37 points on June 22.

The 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup takes place Sept. 4-13 in Berlin and will feature the world's top 16 national teams. France begins competition on Sept. 4 against Hungary in Group B.
