Seattle’s roster stands at 12 following today’s transactions
SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that guards Jenna O’Hea and Jennifer O’Neill have been waived by the team.
The Storm heads to Los Angeles as part of ‘WNBA Tipoff presented by Verizon,’ taking on the defending WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday, May 13 on ESPN at 2 p.m. Pacific.
Seattle’s roster stands at 12, featuring 2016 WNBA Rookie of the Year Breanna Stewart, as well as 2016 All-WNBA First Team selection Sue Bird and 2016 All-WNBA Second Team honoree Jewell Loyd. Stewart led the team last season with 18.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, as the Storm won five of its last six regular season games on the way to earning the No. 7 seed in the WNBA Playoffs.
Additional returnees include versatile forward Alysha Clark, who in her fifth pro season totaled nine points, 3.4 rebounds and nearly two assists per contest. The Storm also returns all of its frontline with Crystal Langhorne and Ramu Tokashiki. Langhorne averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in 2016, while Tokashiki posted 5.3 points and 2.5 boards per game. In late January,Seattle acquired 6-foot-6 center Carolyn Swords, who in her Storm debut during the 2017 preseason scored 15 points vs. Phoenix.
The Storm defeated the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, May 3 in the teams’ first of two preseason games, 86-64, in the first of two preseason games. The teams met again on Sunday, May 7 in Phoenix, falling 55-72.
