SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm announced today the team has signed guard Raina Perez to a hardship contract. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Perez was originally signed to a training camp contract by the Storm before being waived on May 2. She appeared in both preseason games, scoring 13 points including nine points with two steals, three rebounds and an assist in the win over Los Angeles on April 23.

Perez started all 36 games for NC State in 2022, joining the Wolf Pack as a graduate transfer in 2020 and averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 assists in two seasons in Raleigh. Perez was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention and was a top-10 finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award in the 2020-21 season. She began her college career in her home state of Arizona, playing one season at Northern Arizona before transferring to Cal State Fullerton. In her senior year with the Titans, she was named Big West Player of the Year, averaging 19.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

Perez will be eligible to play tonight as the Storm begins a home-and-home series with the Phoenix Mercury in Arizona at 7 p.m. The teams then match up again in Seattle on Saturday at Noon in Climate Pledge Arena.
