The 2020 draft pick will join Seattle for training camp

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Storm announced today that the team has signed guard Haley Gorecki to a training camp contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“I’m so excited and grateful to have this opportunity,” Gorecki said. “I am looking forward to proving myself at training camp and I cannot wait to be out in Seattle.”

The Storm selected Gorecki in the third round of the 2020 WNBA draft with the No. 31 overall pick. In 2020, she played overseas in Spain for Casedemont Zaragoza, averaging 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Gorecki averaged a career-high 18.5 points and 4.4 assists per game in her final year at Duke University. In back-to-back seasons, she led the Blue Devils in average points, rebounds and assists. A top-5 finalist for the 2020 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and two-time All-ACC First Team selection, Gorecki also garnered 2020 All-ACC Defensive Team honors.
