Seattle Storm Sign Lauren Manis to Training Camp Contract

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm announced today the team has signed forward Lauren Manis to a training camp contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Manis, who was originally selected by Las Vegas in the third round of the 2020 WNBA Draft (#33 overall), has spent the last month playing with Athletes Unlimited, ranking 17th in the league’s unique scoring system. Through 12 games, the 6-2 forward has averaged 10.7 points, 5.5 rebounds,1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game with two games remaining in the league’s season.

After being drafted by the Aces in 2020, Manis did not play for the Aces due to COVID-19 restrictions and the league’s shortened training camp in Bradenton, Florida. That fall, she signed with the Kangoeroes Basket Mechelin in Belgium where she averaged 13.2 points and 9.1 rebounds. Manis signed a training camp contract with Las Vegas in 2021 as well but was waived before the season began.

Manis was a standout at College of the Holy Cross, averaging 18.6 points and 11.5 rebounds as a senior, while connecting on 46.3 percent of her shots from three-point range. She also became the first men’s or women’s basketball player in school history to record 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Manis earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors in each of her last three seasons and made the Patriot League All-Defensive Team as a senior.

The Seattle Storm opens the 2022 season on Friday, May 6, hosting the Minnesota Lynx in its return home, playing its first full season in Seattle since 2018 at the newly renovated Climate Pledge Arena. Tickets are available at, or by calling 206-217-WNBA (9622).
