Seattle Storm President and CEO Alisha Valavanis joins Force 10 Sports Management ownership group

SEATTLE — Force 10 Enterprises, a sports investment business owned by Lisa Brummel and Ginny Gilder, today announced that Alisha Valavanis, President and CEO of the Seattle Storm, is joining the ownership group of Force 10 Sports Management, one of the company’s subsidiaries—an agency responsible for providing production, sales and marketing services to boost the presence and revenue of women’s sports teams and events in the United States.

Brummel and Gilder are two of the owners of the reigning WNBA champion Seattle Storm. Alongside Dawn Trudeau, the all-female group comprises Force 10 Hoops and took control of the franchise in 2008.

“Alisha is a true talent both on the basketball and the business sides. We are excited to have her join us as we grow our sports business footprint,” said Gilder.

Valavanis has proven to be an instrumental piece to the Seattle Storm and Force 10 Sports Management since her arrival in 2014 and will continue to lead both organizations as President and CEO.  During the executive’s tenure, the Storm has won two championships in the span of three years (2018 and 2020).

Since its establishment in 2011, Force 10 Sports Management has produced and promoted a variety of events, including principal partnerships with the Pac-12 to manage sales for its Women’s Basketball Championships and the WNBA to produce the 2017 All-Star Game in Seattle—a first for the city. In 2019, the agency ventured into the 3×3 basketball market by sponsoring Force 10 3×3, a professional team that featured Cierra Burdick, Linnae Harper, Megan Huff and Alexis Peterson. That roster secured first place at the Red Bull Elite Division that year and then the USAB National Championship this June.

Under Valavanis’ leadership the agency’s portfolio of clients has included the Pac-12, USA Basketball, Seattle ProAm, OL Reign (formerly, Seattle Reign FC) and the Seattle Seawolves.

“Lisa, Ginny, and Dawn demonstrate the values and the mission of the Seattle Storm at every possible turn. They are intentionally growing opportunities for women in sports, on and off the court. I’m grateful to now join Lisa and Ginny as part of the Force 10 Sports Management ownership group,” said Alisha Valavanis. “It’s a new seat at this table and I’m eager to see what we can accomplish together. We are all committed to working to close gaps that still exist across every aspect of women’s professional sports,” Valavanis stated.
