SEATTLE – Furthering a longstanding commitment to youth wellness, the Seattle Storm and Kaiser Permanente will host students and teachers who participated in the Healthy Living Program on Friday, June 28, for Teacher Appreciation Night presented by Kaiser Permanente.

By improving health for students, staff, and teachers, we can boost educational success and better lifelong health. That’s why the Healthy Living Program was designed to assist K-5 Seattle Public Schools in teaching social emotional learning and goal setting, while incentivizing teachers and students to participate. Physical education specialists had the freedom to create their own classroom goals focused on attendance, participation and/or performance in specific sports or exercises.

All eligible teachers and students received a pair of complimentary Storm tickets to Teacher Appreciation Night as the Storm hosts the Chicago Sky at the University of Washington’s Alaska Airlines Arena.

Kaiser Permanente and the Storm visited Highland Park Elementary School on May 23 to hold a StormFit basketball clinic with fifty children participating in the Healthy Living Program. They had an opportunity to work on their basketball skills with Storm player Mercedes Russell.

Teacher Appreciation Night will celebrate the hard work and dedication of all local Seattle-area instructors and administration in the 2018-19 school year. Kaiser Permanente will provide giveaways, music, raffle prizes and face painting for all on the plaza before entering the arena for the game. Inside the arena, teachers are invited to take a break at the “Relax and Recharge” station to receive a quick massage and visit the photo booth where students and teachers can take photos throughout the game.

We welcome all local Washington school district employees to join us at the game and use this discount link to purchase $15 tickets for the game.

Raise the trophy with the Storm in 2019 with a Storm 360 Membership, ticket package or group experience, available by calling (206) 217-WNBA (9622).
