SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that Brooke Salas has been signed to a training camp contract. She will report when camp opens on Sunday, May 5.
A three-time WAC First Team selection at New Mexico State, Salas etched her name in the program record book, finishing second on the all-time scoring list (1,931), first in blocks (156), third in steals (233) and fifth in rebounds (953). In her final season, the 5-foot-11 guard paced her team in points (19.1), rebounds (11.1) and steals (2.5) per game while tallying 21 double-doubles; marks that ranked in the top two in the conference. On Dec. 21, 2019, Salas notched a triple-double with 32 points, 22 rebounds and a program-record 11 blocks against Alcorn State.
A four-year starter for the Aggies, Salas helped guide her team to four regular-season conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. As a senior, Salas earned her second straight WAC Player of the Year nod and became the first player in conference history to earn both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in the same season.
Note: The Storm will begin training camp without Courtney Paris, Alysha Clark, Sami Whitcomb, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Jewell Loyd, Breanna Stewart and Natasha Howard.
