The Seattle Storm (4-3) looks to string together back-to-back wins as it faces the Washington Mystics (4-2) on the road in a rematch of the 2018 WNBA Finals.

LAST TIME OUT

The Storm were able to hold on to defeat the Indiana Fever on the road, 84-82. Natasha Howard nearly recorded her third double-double of the season with a career-high 26 points and nine rebounds. Mercedes Russell also had a stellar performance with a career-best 13 points and eight rebounds.

Seattle took control late in the first and maintained the lead for nearly the rest of the game. Starting with Kelsey Mitchell’s a 31-foot buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter, the Fever went on an 11-3 run to get within one point of Seattle.

The Storm responded and pulled ahead by seven in the fourth quarter, but struggled to contain Natalie Achonwa who scored nine points in the final frame, including a free throw within 30 seconds to give Indiana a one-point advantage. After an official review, Jewell Loyd sank two free throws to put Seattle back on top. She returned to the stripe for Seattle’s final point with nine seconds on the clock, Crystal Langhorne rebound Candice Dupree’s missed shot on the other end to solidify the win.

SERIES HISTORY

Seattle last faced Washington in Fairfax, Virginia for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. Natasha Howard scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Seattle finished off the Mystics in sweeping fashion to earn the third title in franchise history.

In regular-season play, the Mystics hold the advantage with an 18-6 all-time road record against the Storm. The last time Seattle beat the Mystics in Washington during the regular season was September 9, 2016.

SCOUTING WASHINGTON

Washington were unable to get the win in Connecticut on Tuesday coming up short 83-75. The Sun capitalized on the Mystics 21.4 percent shooting from three securing the win off Mystic misses.

Ariel Atkins had 18 points and five steals, while Elena Delle Donne posted 13 points and six rebounds. The Mystics had a team-high 10-point lead in the third quarter, that was quickly cut down to a one-point deficit after a 12-1 run by the Sun.
