After a heartbreaking loss to Minnesota on Thursday, the Storm will look to snap its three-game skid when it travels to Texas to take on San Antonio on Saturday.

It is the beginning of a stretch of five of six games on the road and the first of a back-to-back road trip, which will end in Tulsa on Sunday.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Abby Bishop

It took a few games for Abby Bishop to get back into the flow of things but it appears she has found a comfort zone. After struggling find the range early on, her shot has finally begun to fall and she is shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three over her last four games. She has also set new career highs in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks during this four-game stretch.

LAST TIME OUT

Seattle got career performances from Jenna O’Hea and Sue Bird but watched an 18-point lead slip away as it dropped the contest to Minnesota 76-73. O’Hea had a career-high 17 points and Bird scored 16 points, which moved her past Sheryl Swoopes for 13th on the all-time scoring list. The Storm scored 51 points in the first half on 54 percent shooting.

AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE!

Jenna O’Hea and Abby Bishop came up big in several moments on Thursday against Minnesota and were incredibly effective from three. The pair combined to score 28 points, including a career-high 17 from O’Hea, and went 6-for-13 (46.1 percent) from distance. O’Hea went 5-for-10 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line. Bishop recorded a near double-double with 12 points and a career-best nine rebounds.

SUE PASSES SHERYL

With her three pointer late in the fourth quarter, Sue Bird eclipsed Sheryl Swoopes for 13th on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list. She scored 16 points on Thursday and now has 4,876 for her career. The next two on the list are Taj McWilliams-Franklin, who finished with 5,013 points, and Tangela Smith with 5,048.

‘THE BENCH MOB’

The bench continues to impress in the early part of the season and has been a difference maker through the first seven games. It provided that instant burst in the first quarter on Thursday with 13 points in the period and then got seven more from Markeisha Gatling in the second. The bench poured in 20 points against Minnesota and has averaged 26.7 points through the first seven games, which is fourth best in the league.

SCOUTING SAN ANTONIO

The Stars will be right a bit of a high as the picked up their first win of the season on Thursday against Phoenix. Jia Perkins, who is averaging a team-high 13.4 points, hit a three with 24.6 seconds left to put San Antonio on top for good. San Antonio has four players averaging double digit scoring but they are the worst shooting team in the WNBA at 37.9 percent. The sixth overall pick, Dearica Hamby, is averaging 10.1 points per game.

KEYS TO THE GAME

The defensive pressure played against Minnesota caused multiple problems for the Lynx. If replicated, that same pressure and intensity should create even more problems for San Antonio. The Storm scored 13 points off turnovers on Thursday and scored a season-best 51 points in the first half. Seattle has inched closer and closer to a win and Head Coach Jenny Boucek has been pleased with the progress.
