TULSA, Okla.–Rookies Jewell Loyd and Ramu Tokashiki led the charge in the second half and combined for 42 points but it was not enough as the Storm dropped its third straight heartbreaker, 93-89 to Tulsa on Sunday night.

Seattle has held leads in the second halves of each of the last three games and has dropped each one by a combined total of nine points.

Tulsa went into the second half with a 45-42 lead and was able to keep Seattle from cutting into the lead for the first half of the third quarter but Loyd had possibly her best quarter since being drafted.

With the Storm down by 57-55, Loyd flashed through the lane and Alysha Clark found her for the tough layup and the foul. She sank the free throw to put the Storm up by one. After a pair of free throws game Tulsa the lead again, Loyd came down and quickly hit a jumper to move Seattle ahead 60-59.

She scored 11 of her career-high 21 points in the third.

Later in the quarter, Storm guard Angel Goodrich came through against her former team and scored five straight points to cap an 11-3 run to move Seattle ahead 73-66.

The teams traded the lead 21 times and with 4:18 and the game tied at 80, Goodrich fired up a shot with the shot clock expiring and banked in the straightaway three to take a three-point lead.

Tulsa tied it back up on a free throw from Karima Christmas and Tokashiki answered with a driving layup to go back up by two. Crystal Langhorne followed it up with a basket of her own to go up 87-83.

Skylar Diggins made three free throws to cut the lead to one and, with 44 seconds left, Tulsa collected an offensive rebound and found Christmas who hit the three and gave the Shock an 89-87 lead.

On the next Storm possession, Langhorne found Tokashiki cutting to the basket for the layup with 32 seconds left to tie it up at 89. Tokashiki finished with a career-high 21 points one night after having a career-high 14 points.

But Tulsa had another answer and it came from Riquana Williams on a long jumper to give Tulsa a two-point lead with 10 seconds left, which was the difference in the game.

Seattle will face Tulsa again on Tuesday at KeyArena at 7 p.m.

With the score tied at 14 in the first quarter, Renee Montgomery hit a triple from about 29 feet to give Seattle a three-point edge. Tokashiki entered the game and immediately came through with a layup and a jumper to extend the Storm run to 7-0.

Tokashiki led the bench crew, which scored 11 points in the first quarter, with six points in the opening period and scored 11 first half points.

The Storm pushed hard again to open the second quarter and Jewell Loyd’s drive to the basket was good plus the foul to put Seattle up 35-27. She scored 10 points in the first half.

Tulsa then turned to Diggins as the Shock went on an 13-2 run to take a three point lead behind 21 first half points from the Tulsa guard. She finished with a game-high 31.
