HOW TO WATCH

Friday’s game against the Chicago Sky will be streamed on leaguepass.wnba.com and will be locally televised on JOEtv. Fans can also follow live stats at StormBasketball.com, or on Twitter by following @SeattleStorm.

LAST TIME OUT

The Storm looks to bounce back after a lackluster offensive performance against the Las Vegas Aces. Seattle was held to 56 points in the loss and shot just over 30 percent from the field, its lowest marks in a single game since the 2012 season.

Western Conference Player of the Week A’ja Wilson scored the go-ahead basket and initiated several key defensive stops down the stretch, finishing with 12 points, three steals and three blocks. Liz Cambage notched her second double-double this season with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The Storm went 0-for-7 in the opening quarter until Jewell Loyd put the Storm on the scoreboard with a breakaway layup at the 6:25 mark. However, her night ended early as she sustained a right ankle injury on the play.

Seattle’s bench kept the team in the hunt, accounting for 18 of the Storm’s 32 first-half points. Crystal Langhorne led all reserves with a season-high 11 points, including nine in the second quarter.

With two minutes left in the third, Alysha Clark drained a 3-pointer to give the Storm its first lead of the night, but the Aces responded with six consecutive points to regain the lead entering the final frame.

With just over a minute left in regulation, Dearica Hamby was unable to convert a three-point play from the charity stripe and the score remained locked until A’ja Wilson dropped one in from under the basket. Wilson hit her second of two attempts from the line with 19 seconds on the clock and blocked Seattle’s potential game-tying three-point attempt on the next possession.

SERIES HISTORY

Seeking to avenge two early road losses in the Windy City, the Storm hosts the Chicago Sky for the third time in 28 days. Seattle looks to avoid being swept by the Sky since 2015 (0-2).

In their most recent meeting on June 9, the Storm was unable to overcome an early 26-point deficit, falling 78-71. Seattle whittled the gap to six points behind a strong second half performance from Illinois native Jewell Loyd, who finished with 20 points, dishing four assists and four steals. Natasha Howard recorded her third 20-point game and added five rebounds.

SCOUTING CHICAGO

Chicago couldn’t contain the Washington Mystics in an 81-73 homes loss on Wednesday. Allie Quigley scored a team-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting and Diamond DeShields added eight points and nine rebounds.

The former Chicago MVP Elena Delle Donne hit a jumper as the shot clock expired to put the Mystics up by seven with 14.4 seconds left in the game. After a 20-second timeout, Quigley missed on a three-point attempt and Ariel Atkins pulled down the rebound to end the game.

Delle Donne finished with 22 points and seven rebounds and Atkins added 14 points, six rebounds and five steals.
