Breanna Stewart Undergoes Successful Surgery

SEATTLE – Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart, who suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon in Sunday’s EuroLeague championship game, underwent successful surgery this morning to repair the tendon. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache and Dr. Kenneth S. Jung of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Stewart will miss the entire 2019 WNBA season, but is expected to make a full recovery for the start of the 2020 season. Updates on her progress will be provided as appropriate.
