The BECU Storm Center for Basketball Performance sets a new standard for athletic excellence, spanning 50,000 square feet as the team’s dedicated practice facility and team headquarters. The BECU Storm Center boasts two indoor professional basketball courts, two outdoor 3x3 courts, and an exclusive suite for the Seattle Storm that includes a locker room, a nutrition center, and a player lounge. Designed with a focus on high performance, the facility features the latest in strength and conditioning equipment, health and wellness suites, and an aquatics center.
Located in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood, the facility also houses the Storm's business headquarters on the second floor. The integration of its on-court and off-court teams under one roof fosters new creativity and opportunity for future growth.
The facility opened its doors in April 2024. In May 2025, the Seattle Storm announced the $64 million training facility would be named the BECU Storm Center for Basketball Performance. This is the first time an independently owned WNBA team has secured a sponsor for the naming of its performance center.
The partnership, rooted in both organizations’ affection for Seattle and deep commitment to make a positive impact on the local community, built on a nearly decade-long relationship. It continues to focus on growing the game of basketball and reducing participation barriers for historically marginalized youth with an emphasis on financial health.
The relationship between BECU and the Storm was strengthened further when the Storm developed its pioneering vision for a new practice facility that would set the standard of excellence for female athletes everywhere. BECU helped bring the project to life by providing vital financing, for both construction and permanent debt, to help the franchise translate their dream to reality.
Alisha Valavanis, Seattle Storm President and CEO"Our names together on the BECU Storm Center for Basketball Performance represent more than a partnership—it illustrates our shared values and vision. For years, BECU and the Seattle Storm have stood side by side in our commitment to uplift our community. Now, with BECU CEO, Beverly Anderson and our collective teams, we launch a new chapter, one where purpose meets possibility. While the Center is already the city’s home for world-class basketball, it will now become one for our young people to nurture their dreams and fuel their confidence."
Beyond serving the needs of professional athletes, the BECU Storm Center for Basketball Performance is also the home to the Storm's comprehensive youth basketball program, Jr. Storm, optimizing the new facility to inspire and nurture the next generation of basketball talent.
Alisha Valavanis, Seattle Storm President and CEO"This is more than a testament to the Force 10 ownership’s commitment to our Storm athletes and our entire staff, it is a commitment to use professional sports as a platform for positive impact. This will be home to ‘Jr. Storm,’ a comprehensive youth basketball program including our free community camps and clinics made possible through corporate partners.”
