STORM WAIVE TAMERA “TY” YOUNG AND NATALIE KUCOWSKI 

SEATTLE — The Seattle Storm announced today the team has waived Tamera “Ty” Young and Natalie Kucowski. Young was signed to a training camp contract on February 11 and Kucowski was the Storm’s third-round pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft (#35 overall).

Young, a veteran WNBA player with 12 years of experience in the league, has appeared in 372 career games, making 208 starts. She has played at least 30 games in 10 of her WNBA seasons and has a career shooting percentage of 39.8%. Young attended James Madison University, where she set what was at the time the Colonial Athletic Association all-time scoring record.

Kucowski was the first-ever player drafted to the WNBA from Lafayette College, closing out her career by earning 2020-21 Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors. The 6-foot-3 forward averaged 17.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game during her banner senior season. For her career, Kucowski averaged an impressive 13.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.3 blocks per game, finishing as Lafayette’s all-time rebound leader with 1,197.
