Seattle Storm Waives Lanay Montgomery

The Seattle Storm today announced that Lanay Montgomery has been waived.

Montgomery, a 6-5 center out of West Virginia, averaged 4.1 minutes per game as a rookie, appearing in seven games throughout the 2017 season. She totaled six points, five rebounds and four blocks, three of which came at Washington on June 27. Montgomery is one of just four Storm rookies all-time to collect at least three blocks in a game.

The Storm selected Montgomery in the third round of the 2017 WNBA Draft as the No. 30 overall pick. She averaged 10.6 points, 8.9 boards and 2.8 blocks per game during her senior season at West Virginia in 2016-17 on the way to leading the Mountaineers to a Big 12 Tournament title and second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
