WNBA All-Star Voting 2017 presented by Verizon Begins Today, June 13

In Partnership with Visit Seattle, Storm Launches “Seattle All-Star Getaway Sweepstakes”

SEATTLE – Today marks the beginning of WNBA All-Star Voting 2017 presented by Verizon and in conjunction, the Seattle Storm has launched the “Seattle All-Star Getaway Sweepstakes.” One lucky winner will receive a three-day, two-night trip for two to the Verizon WNBA All-Star Game 2017.

For the first time, WNBA players and media will join fans in selecting the starters for Verizon WNBA All-Star 2017, set to take place on July 22 at KeyArena, with the tipoff set for 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC. Voting begins today, June 13 at 11 a.m. PT and will end on Thursday, July 6 at 6 p.m. PT.

In partnership with Visit Seattle, the Seattle Storm is launching “Seattle All-Star Getaway Sweepstakes,” a package that includes a three-day, two-night trip for two to Verizon WNBA All-Star 2017 in Seattle from July 20-22. In addition to receiving courtside seats to the All-Star game, the winners will score $200 in spending cash, a $100 gift certificate to El Gaucho restaurant and a two-night stay at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.

The sweepstakes will go live on Tuesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. PT and will close on Tuesday, June 20 at 11 a.m. PT. Fans can enter by visiting the following link: storm.wnba.com/visitseattle.

While starters used to be chosen solely by the fans, the WNBA is extending that platform to include WNBA players and the media. Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, while current players and a panel of select basketball media will account for 25 percent each. Players and members of the media may complete one full ballot, featuring three frontcourt players and two guards from the Eastern and Western Conference. Players are also allowed to vote for their teammates or themselves.

During the Storm’s ESPN2-televised road game at Connecticut on Thursday, June 29, the network will give a voting update to announce the totals of the leading vote-getters from each conference. Starters will be announced live on ESPN on Tuesday, July 11 during the 9 a.m. PT edition of SportsCenter. Selected by the WNBA head coaches, the Eastern and Western Conference All-Star reserves will be announced the following week during Seattle’s ESPN2-televised home matchup vs. Chicago on Tuesday , July 18, set to tipoff at 6 p.m. PT.

HOW TO VOTE:

WNBA.com player index page at WNBA.com/vote: Fill out one full ballot per day (defined as once every 24 hours) on WNBA.com/vote from a desktop or mobile browser. Fans can choose from all active WNBA players when selecting a minimum of (1) player or up to (10) players per ballot.

Twitter: Tweet, retweet or reply with a WNBA player’s first and last name or Twitter handle, along with the WNBA All-Star Voting hashtag #WNBAVOTE. Each tweet may include only one player’s name or handle. Fans may vote for 10 unique players each day throughout the WNBA All-Star voting period. Tweets must include the hashtag #WNBAVOTE to be counted as valid votes. Retweets will count as valid votes. Also, each Twitter user must have the “protect my tweets” option unchecked under the account’s privacy settings for the votes to count.

Facebook: Post on your personal Facebook account, or comment on another’s Facebook post the player’s first and last name along with the hashtag #WNBAVOTE. Each post may include only one player’s name. Fans may post votes for 10 unique players per day throughout the voting period.
