Seattle Storm Tips Off 2019 Opening Day Presented By Swedish On May 25 vs. Phoenix Mercury

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm will tip off the 20th season in franchise history on Saturday as the team welcomes the Phoenix Mercury to Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Wash. Opening Day presented by Swedish will be nationally broadcast on ABC at 12:30 p.m. PT. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and the pregame ring ceremony celebrating the team’s third title will begin on the court at noon.

The Storm’s home opener is a rematch of the Storm’s thrilling 2018 semifinal series vs. Phoenix. Sporting a facemask to protect the broken nose that she suffered in Game 4, Sue Bird scored 14 points in the fourth quarter of the winner-take-all Game 5 to clinch the Storm’s third appearance in the WNBA Finals.

The first 3,000 fans in attendance for Opening Day will receive a free “Ring Season” t-shirt courtesy of Swedish. Additionally, fans can join Swedish on the concourse outside Section 101 to try their hand at pop-a-shot. For every basket made, Swedish will donate to the Nourishing Network, which provides meals and other essential services to vulnerable students and their families in the Edmonds School District.

Swedish is proud to be the Storm’s partner in health – and your partner in health. On Opening Day, Swedish is excited to kick off a new campaign, Health for good. It’s about taking care, inside and out – doing good for yourself and your community.
