Countdown to the virtual WNBA 2020 Draft tips off tomorrow at 1 p.m. PT as 2018 WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart goes live with ESPN’s Holly Rowe from the Storm Instagram account
SEATTLE – In anticipation of the virtual WNBA 2020 Draft presented by State Farm, the three-time WNBA champion Seattle Storm today announced a special, multi-platform slate of programming. Stay tuned all week for Seattle Storm Draft Coverage presented by Swedish and Symetra, the marquee jersey partners of the Storm.
• Tomorrow at 1 p.m. PT, Storm forward and 2018 WNBA regular season and Finals MVP Breanna Stewart and ESPN’s Holly Rowe will take over the Storm Instagram account and engage with fans.
• Thursday at 7 p.m. PT, Sue Bird and the Storm lead a comeback for the ages against the Phoenix Mercury in the 2018 WNBA Semifinals Game 5 on ESPN2. Fans are encouraged to follow along on the Storm Twitter account.
• Bird and Rowe will join ESPN’s Ryan Ruocco and Hall-of-Famer Rebecca Lobo for the telecast of the virtual WNBA 2020 Draft Presented by State Farm. Coverage of all three rounds on ESPN will begin Friday at 4 p.m. PT. The Storm holds the 11th (via Connecticut), 19th and 31st overall picks.
The WNBA announced on April 3 that the 2020 training camp and regular season will be postponed as developments continue to emerge around the COVID-19 pandemic. The league continues to scenario plan for new start dates and innovative formats when it is safe to return to play.
