Seattle Storm and NHL Seattle Announce Partnership Ahead of WNBA Semifinals at KeyArena

WNBA Semifinals Game 1 presented by NHL Seattle is set for Aug. 26 at 2 p.m.

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced that NHL Seattle will be the presenting partner of the team’s WNBA Semifinals Game 1, highlighting the strong relationship forming between the two teams, set to share a home arena in the fall of 2020. On Sunday, the first 4,000 fans will receive a Storm and NHL Seattle co-branded rally towel. Doors are set to open at 1 p.m./PT.

“The support from NHL Seattle on this playoff run means a great deal to our organization,” said Alisha Valavanis, Storm President & GM.  “We can’t wait for the day when we share the new Seattle Center Arena with Tod Leiweke and his team at NHL Seattle. Until then, it’s incredible to be able to count on their support!”

“The Seattle Storm are once again taking their passionate fans on a championship run,” said Tod Leiweke, Seattle Hockey Partners President and CEO. “We couldn’t be any more excited to partner with the organization as they head into the WNBA playoffs as the top seed in the West. But this is just the beginning of our journey together. Beginning in 2020, they will ‘Protect Our House’ at our new shared home at Seattle Center.”

The opponent for the Storm will be determined tonight during the WNBA Playoffs single-elimination second round games, both broadcast on ESPN2. The #6 seed Los Angeles Sparks take on the #3 seed Washington Mystics at 3:30 p.m./PT followed by the #5 seed Phoenix Mercury at #4 seed Connecticut Sun at 5:30 p.m./PT. The Storm will host WNBA Semifinals Game 1 presented by NHL Seattle on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 2 p.m./PT and Game 2 on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m./PT. Both games are set to be telecast on ESPN2 from KeyArena.

Described as ‘Seattle’s premiere triple hyphenate-singer, songwriter and producer’, PARISAELXA will perform the National Anthem and at halftime of Seattle’s Game 1. PARISALEXA’s 2018 debut EP Bloom, highlights growth, the course of a relationship and exercises in self-love. Her follow-up, FLEXA, is a four-track mixtape that embodies contemporary R&B gloss and trap-inflected austerity. If Bloom is about a journey—that of falling in love and discovering oneself—FLEXA is about what happens once you arrive.
