Seattle Storm and Kaiser Permanente Continue Partnership for 2019 StormFit Events

The Kaiser Permanente Community Practice hosted by the City of SeaTac and Southside Regional Tourism Authority is free and open to the public

SEATTLE – Continuing their longstanding partnership, the Seattle Storm and Kaiser Permanente will join forces to once again host a variety of StormFit events for local youth including a summer camp, basketball clinics and an open community practice with the entire Storm roster.

StormFit, one of the Starting Five pillars of StormCares, provides youth in the Pacific Northwest with supportive programming for an active lifestyle by holding a variety of outreach events to help youth learn healthy habits and practices while developing lifelong fans of the game of basketball.

On Tuesday, July 30, the Storm and Kaiser Permanente will hold the fifth annual StormFit Community Practice hosted by the City of SeaTac and the Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority at Tyee High School in SeaTac, Wash. From 5:30-7:30 p.m., youth will have an opportunity to interact and play alongside their favorite Storm players, participate in drills and meet Doppler the mascot. Kaiser Permanente will hand out free t-shirts, basketballs and other goodies to the first 250 people in attendance. This kid-friendly event is free and open to all ages – no registration is required.

The StormFit Community Practice hosted by the City of SeaTac and the Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority is the second community practice in 2019. On May 8, the Storm and Kaiser Permanente presented an additional community practice at Nisqually Youth Center.

The events will culminate with StormFit Night presented by Kaiser Permanente as the Seattle Storm takes on the Indiana Fever on Aug. 25 at Alaska Airlines Arena. The night is dedicated to celebrating and promoting youth fitness through fun activities on the plaza and concourse.
