SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm will host its fifth annual Toy Drive supported by Lime and benefiting Seattle Children’s Hospital on July 19 when the team hosts the Las Vegas Aces at 7 p.m. PT at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Forward Alysha Clark, who was recently named as a member of the Storm’s 20th anniversary team, has led the team’s Toy Drive efforts for the past four years and regularly visits Seattle Children’s with her teammates during the season. Last year, the toy drive was a huge success thanks to Storm fans who donated over 2,000 new toys.
“Throughout my WNBA career, I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with so many amazing, strong and smart children and their families at Seattle Children’s Hospital. As we approach my fifth annual Seattle Children’s Toy Drive on July 19th, it’s time to once again come together as a community and help make a difference,” said Clark. “This year’s toy drive is special to me because it represents the growth and commitment both here in Seattle and the entire WNBA community to impact the lives of these amazing children and their families. I am so grateful for the support over the last four years and look forward to delivering more smiles to Seattle Children’s this summer!”
Along with the donations from fans and Clark, the Storm has teamed up with Lime, who will be donating helmets to distribute to kids at the hospital.
Fans can donate items online by visiting the Seattle Children’s Amazon wish list here. Among the greatest needs include: infant flannel blankets, Nerf basketball sets, nail polish and nail decals, Crayola crayons, infant rattles, tactile toys (sound, light, texture), board books, new release/popular DVDs (no VHS), $5 and $10 gift cards (music, book stores, movies, restaurants, Target, Amazon) and Uno card games.

Those donating are asked to not wrap items or include action figures with violent themes, such as guns, knives or swords. Please make sure they are new items, as Seattle Children’s can’t accept used toys or toiletries due to infection control and allergies. This includes stuffed animals that haven’t been played with unless they have been stored in airtight containers.
Donations can be placed in the marked bins on the plaza outside Alaska Airlines Arena. Lime vans will be parked near the Southwest entrance to load the toys for delivery to Seattle Children’s.
