Seattle Announces ‘Storm Into S.T.E.M. School Day’ Game; Entire Preseason Slate

Seattle to Face the Phoenix Mercury at KeyArena on Wednesday, May 4

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm today announced the team’s two 2016 preseason games, both against the Phoenix Mercury.

Seattle will open its preseason slate on Wednesday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m., and is hosting its second-annual ‘Storm into S.T.E.M. School Day’ in conjunction with the game.

“To open the season with a focus on youth and education in the greater Puget Sound community is a special opportunity,” said Storm President & GM Alisha Valavanis. “Our players serve as impactful role models and the ‘Storm into S.T.E.M. School Day’ platform aligns with our efforts to continue to support youth in Seattle.”

The ‘Storm into S.T.E.M. School Day’ preseason game will open with a student robotics showcase, featuring several teams from Washington First Robotics at 10:30 a.m. In-game activities include a S.T.E.M. workbook provided by the Storm and student science projects highlighted on the video board.

Tickets to the May 4 ‘Storm into S.T.E.M. School Day’ start at $10, with a complimentary chaperone ticket available per 10 student tickets purchased. Fans can register their students here.

The team will then head to Phoenix on May 8 for its final tune-up game before the 2016 regular-season begins. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
