PREVIEW: at Dallas (June 2)

Seattle will look to extend its winning streak to six games and remain undefeated on the road as the Storm takes on the Dallas Wings on June 2 at the College Park Center. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m./PT.

LAST TIME OUT

Seattle improved its winning streak to five games after defeating the Las Vegas Aces in its last game 101-74. The Storm hit 17 treys, breaking the WNBA record for three-pointers made in a game.

Seattle opened up the game scoring 38 points in the first quarter, while holding the Aces to just 14 to take a commanding 24-point lead after one. Seattle remained hot throughout the game, ultimately shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 65.4 percent from three.

Breanna Stewart led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds. Jewell Loyd ended the game with 20 points, going 5-for-6 from deep.

 

SCOUTING DALLAS

Dallas is currently sitting at 2-3 on the season, dropping its last matchup against the New York Liberty 89-94. Skylar Diggins-Smith led the way for the Wings in that game with 20 points and seven assists.

The Wings’ two wins have both been against the Atlanta Dream. Dallas defeated Atlanta in its home opener 101-78, and defeated the Dream in Atlanta less than a week later with a final score of 78-70.

Dallas is being led this season by Diggins-Smith, who is averaging 19.8 points and 5.8 assists per game.

 

SERIES HISTORY 

Seattle owns an 28-21 all-time advantage over the Dallas Wings, with the Storm winning the season series last season 2-1.

The Storm went 1-1 last season in games played at Dallas. Seattle defeated Dallas by 20 points in the first matchup with a final score of 89-69, as Loyd led the way in that game with 27 points. Seattle dropped the last meeting in Dallas on Aug. 4, 93-80.

This marks the first of four meetings between the two teams this season. Seattle will play in Dallas once again on June 24. The final two meetings will be played at KeyArena, the first on July 14, and the final being the season finale on Aug. 19.

 

UP NEXT 

Seattle will have a brief rest until its next meeting at Los Angeles on June 7 at the STAPLES Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m./PT, with the game being broadcasted live on ESPN2.
