GAME PREVIEW
With two days of rest behind them for the last time in three weeks, the Seattle Storm (3-1) begin a grueling schedule of a game every other day against the Connecticut Sun (0-4).
The Sun are still looking for their first win of the season despite the efforts of DeWanna Bonner, who is averaging 27.5 points per game, with a season-high 34 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
While Connecticut chases its first victory of the season, Seattle will look for its first win over the Sun since the 2018 season. The Sun took the 2019 season series 3-0, with the Storm missing 2018 MVP Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird.
In their last time out, the Storm dominated the first half against LA, and slowed down in the second half but still pulled out a win over the Sparks with five players scoring in double digits. Stewart led the team with 21 points, and Jewell Loyd scored 17, 11 coming in a dominant first-quarter performance. Jordin Canada, who started at point guard in Bird’s absence, scored 16 points, which Alysha Clark dished out six assists.
Breanna Stewart was named WNBA Western Conference Player of the Week. She averaged 18.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg, and a league-leading 2.8 spg in four games.
