The Storm signed Belinda Snell as a free agent on Feb. 9, 2011. Before coming to Seattle, Snell spent three seasons with the Phoenix Mercury and was a part of the Phoenix's 2007 WNBA championship team. Snell caught the Mercury's attention by averaging a league-high 20.3 points with the Sydney Uni Flames of the Australian WNBL. Snell's best WNBA season came with the San Antonio Silver Stars in 2009, where she averaged 6.2 points per game and made six starts for the playoff-bound Silver Stars. An experienced international veteran, Snell won silver medals with the Australian National Team in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics and was a starter when the Opals won the 2006 FIBA World Championship.
