Aneika Henry

Aneika Henry

Entering the Storm's 2011 training camp, Aneika Henry is seeking to become the third Jamaican player in WNBA history. Both of her predecessors played in Seattle. Most famously, Simone Edwards was an inaugural Storm player and a member of the 2004 championship team. Nadine Malcolm played with the Seattle Reign before her lone WNBA season with the Indiana Fever. Like them, Henry picked up the game late. She had never played an organized sport before beginning high school in Florida. Six years later, she was at the University of Florida, where in just two seasons as a JC transfer she reached sixth on the school's all-time blocks leaderboard. Playing overseas, Henry has continued to develop her game, becoming a key player for Mann Filter Zaragoza in Spain, where she caught the eye of Storm Head Coach Brian Agler. Henry's claim to fame is her ability to dunk. While she never did so in a game for the Gators, she regularly dunked in pregame warm-ups.
