Storm Announces 2013 Preseason Schedule Two Exhibition Contests Scheduled Prior to Regular Season

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm will warm up for the 2013 season by hosting an exhibition game versus the Tulsa Shock at KeyArena, Friday, May 17. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m. PDT. In addition to their existing rosters, the Shock also holds the third pick of the upcoming WNBA Draft on April 15, while the Storm holds the No. 6 overall pick
The Storms first action of the season will be an exhibition contest against Los Angeles on May 12 to be played at Walter Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach State University at 1 p.m. PDT. The team will host rival Phoenix, owner of the next No. 1 draft pick, in its 2013 home opener, Sunday, June 2 at KeyArena. The first 3,000 fans in the door on Opening Night will receive a Storm t-shirt.
The Storm recently signed guards Temeka Johnson and Noelle Quinn and forward Nakia Sanford. Training camp invitations have been extended to Alysha Clark, Chay Shegog and Cierra Bravard. Storm point guard Sue Bird will miss the 2013 season to recover from knee surgery she is undergoing later this spring. Veterans Lauren Jackson and Ann Wauters also will not play the 2013 season in Seattle. Training camp is scheduled to begin May 5.
