Activities and Events at Sept. 11 Game Against Los Angeles Sparks

On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. PT, the Seattle Storm will host the Los Angeles Sparks at KeyArena in a game with significant playoff implications. Sunday is Hoops For Heroes Night, and there are a number of special events taking place before and during the game.

Presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Hoops for Heroes Night will be hosted by the Storm.

The Storm is also hosting a toy drive benefitting Seattle Children’s at Sunday’s game. With the help of forward Alysha Clark, who regularly visits Seattle Children’s, the Storm will be collecting items on the main concourse by the Huddle and donating them to the hospital. Fans can visit the Wish List on Amazon for available items to purchase. Among the greatest needs are traveling toiletries – such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant – and toys for youth such as Crayola Crayons, coloring posters, Lego sets, playing cards and Play-Doh.

The Warm 106.9 Teddy Bear Toss is taking place at halftime, when fans will be able to throw their bears onto Carter Subaru Court. Donations will help emergency personnel and first responders comfort children in traumatic or frightening situations by giving them a warm and fuzzy friend to hold.

Before the game, starting at 2 p.m., the Storm’s ‘Summer Fun Zone’ will be active on the West Plaza for fans to enjoy family-friendly entertainment. Sponsored by National Event Pros, the ‘Summer Fun Zone’ features activities for all ages, including face painting, a balloon twister and inflatable toys with music provided by Warm 106.9. On Sunday, Albert Lee Appliance will be using its mobile cooking cart and providing food samples.
