USA and Storm guard Sue Bird injured her right knee during the USA’s Aug. 16 game against Japan. She underwent an MRI on Aug. 17, which showed a knee capsule sprain. She is listed as day-to-day.
“Obviously I felt a huge relief,” said Bird. “The hardest part is waiting and not knowing. So, to finally get the thumbs-up from the doc that everything was okay was incredibly relieving and exciting, and obviously I’m very happy.”
