Fans can take advantage of free tickets for kids, free t-shirts for the first 3,000 fans
SEATTLE – It’s that time of year again – a time when an exuberant buzz circulates Seattle and fans donning Storm gear parade inside KeyArena. Opening Night presented by Swedish is set for Sunday at 4 p.m. PDT, as Seattle hosts the Indiana Fever for a Mother’s Day showdown.
A variety of promotions and discounts will take place, including free admission for kids and free t-shirts for the first 3,000 fans. Up to four kids get in free with the purchase of at least one adult ticket in the General Admission Family Zone, adding to the excitement of Opening Night and celebration of Mother’s Day.
Prior to tipoff, Jennifer Hopper will lead KeyArena in singing the National Anthem. Hopper is a member of ‘The Angel Band Project,’ a music group that uses music to break the silence of domestic violence and provide healing for violence survivors.
In addition to free admission for kids and t-shirt giveaways, here are the most exciting promotions to look forward to on Opening Night presented by Swedish.
CANINES TAKE THE HARDWOOD
Seattle FlyDogs, a local community club based out of Kenmore, Wash., will perform at halftime. Fans will get to see the canines of all shapes, breeds and sizes ‘fly’ past obstacles, leap over hurdles and race through courses.
ZEEKS’ GOLDEN TICKET
A golden ticket won’t guarantee a trip to a mysterious chocolate factory, but it will provide free pizza for a year to one lucky fan in attendance. Zeeks Pizza will be dishing out coupons at the front doors of KeyArena, and only one coupon will contain a golden ticket.
TEXT-TO-WIN TICKETS TO VERIZON WNBA ALL-STAR 2017
At Sunday’s home opener, fans will be able to text-to-win tickets to Verizon WNBA All-Star 2017 by texting “SEA” to 55678. The promotion will only be live during Sunday’s game, but fans who text “SEA” to 55678 at any other time will be able to sign up for access to Seattle’s weekly StormWatch Newsletter for the latest info on the team and other promotions.
PLAZA FESTIVITIES
Fans are encouraged to come early to Sunday’s game – not just for the free t-shirts, but also for Family Weekends on the West Plaza sponsored by National Event Pros. Prior to tipoff from 2-4 p.m., the entire family can enjoy the Summer Fun Zone on the West Plaza, complete with face painting, bounce houses, music and more. In celebration of the new General Admission Family Zone, kids will be encouraged to cheer as loud as they can and will be invited to run on the court during the Doppler Train.
PERFECT STORM FOR STARTING FIVE
Fans can look forward to an intense new intro video for the Seattle Storm, and Sunday’s starting lineup festivities will include a smoke and lights show to kickoff the 2017 campaign.
GAME TIME
Once again, tipoff vs. the Fever is set for 4 p.m. PDT, and the doors open to the public at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on Q13 FOX and JOEtv.
