Seattle Storm Invites Fans to Join in Pride Tipoff Supported by PwC

Storm hosts Indiana June 22 at 7 p.m. PT; invites fans to join team in Pride Parade June 24

SEATTLE – Seattle will host Pride Tipoff supported by PwC on June 22 at 7 p.m./PT, highlighted by a showdown with the second overall 2018 WNBA Draft selection Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever.

The Storm also invites all fans to join the team in the annual Pride Parade, set to take place on Sunday, June 24.

“As an organization, we are focused on creating space for our community to celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion,” said Storm President & GM Alisha Valavanis. “Pride Tipoff is a special night to support the LGBTQ community and allies; this platform epitomizes the essence of what we value as an organization.”

From rainbow thunderstix to a national anthem performance by Jennifer Hopper, the evening is sure to be an exciting celebration of inclusion in sports, equality and diversity.

RAINBOW THUNDERSTIX, SPECIAL MERCHANDISE AVAILABLE

Supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Storm will be handing out rainbow thunderstix to fans to join in the celebration and cheer on the team against the Mercury. A variety of Pride merchandise will also be available at the game, including Pride flags and tank tops.

 

JOIN STORM IN PRIDE PARADE ON SUNDAY, JUNE 24

On Sunday, June 24, the Storm will participate in the Pride Parade and invites fans to walk with the team and Storm mascot Doppler.

 

HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS W/ DJ RICKI LEIGH

Prior to tipoff against Indiana, fans are encouraged to arrive early for Happy Hour from 6-7 p.m. The drink specials include $5 domestic beers and $6 premium beers. Ricki Leigh, one of the premier Seattle female DJ’s that has been working events in the Emerald City for over a decade, will be the doing music for the duration of the Happy Hour.
